Colombia Project

Upon inception, DC504 Foundation identified a need in Staff Sergeant DazaChacón’s native land of Colombia. In 2010, when a devastating flood swept through Colombia, many lost their homes. DC504 Foundation responded by erecting, not just a home for a family of four in Tolima, but a refuge under which to rebuild their lives.

DC504 Foundation selected the Cespedes Alvarez Family based on the gravity of their need. Both parents, Danilo and Ingrid, were unemployed and facing eviction. Residing with them was their young son, Juan Felipe, and Ingrid’s sister Yoretxy.Yoretxy was born quadriplegic and blind. The land on which the modest dwelling was built, was graciously donated.
